About Us
I've been building things my whole life. My first roll cage went into a Jeep in 1994. By 1998 I was working as a pipefitter in oilfields, refineries, power plants, dynamite plants, and rock quarries — the kind of industrial environments where a bad weld or a sloppy fit doesn't just fail a part, it hurts people. That background taught me what precision actually means when the stakes are real.
In the early 2000s I moved into field machinist and millwright work at refineries and rock crushing plants, manually machining pump housings and shafts on-site to get equipment running again. I transitioned to CNC work in 2012. By 2018 I had a full shop in Paradise, CA — two Bridgeport mills, manual and CNC lathes, surface and cylindrical grinders — and 20-plus years of fabrication work behind me, from custom Jeep frames and Toyota tube chassis builds to drivetrain adaptations and transfer case doublers.
In November 2018, the Camp Fire took everything. I wasn't home when it started. The entire property was a total loss — the shop, the equipment, the house, every family photo and scrapbook we had. Nothing left. We moved to Woodland, CA, and in 2019 I rebuilt the shop from scratch with a Haas VMC and a Mori Seiki CNC lathe and started Reed Made Speed.
Part of what drove that decision was frustration. While sourcing parts for my own SxS builds I kept running into the same thing — poor craftsmanship, parts that didn't live up to what they were supposed to be, and companies that couldn't be bothered to talk to you about it. I had 25 years of fabrication and machining experience and I was done accepting that standard. If I was going to build parts, they were going to be right.
Every Reed Made Speed product is machined on our equipment, in our shop, in Woodland, CA, with US materials and tooling. We're adding 7075 aluminum and Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloys to our material capabilities as we develop the next generation of products. My son Garrett has been around this work his entire life and handles shipping and R&D installation. Michelle keeps the business running.
530-771-7594 is my direct line. You'll get me on the phone — not a call center, not a ticketing system. I'm here to solve your problem, not create one. If that means staying in the shop late or machining something custom, that's what I'll do.

Meet Our Team
Three people run Reed Made Speed: Denny designs and machines the parts, Garrett handles shipping and R&D installation, and Michelle keeps operations running. We've been doing this together since the beginning, and every order that ships reflects all three of us.
-
Garrett Reed
Garrett is our in-house shipping director; he handles all shipments receiving materials and prepping them for machining as well as our R&D installer. He has been with us from the beginning and is the reason we call ourselves Reed Made Speed.
-
Denny Reed
Denny has been designing and machining parts professionally since 2010. He founded Reed Made Speed in 2019 to combine that precision machining background with a lifelong passion for off-road - he's been in engine bays since before he could walk. He designs every product, runs the CNC equipment, and answers the phone when you call.

Michelle Reed
Michelle is vital to our everyday operations, as acting Office Manager she handles our customer accounts, payroll, accounts payable, and our materials procurement. With over 20 years of experience working in these fields, she keeps us running like a well-oiled machine.
